Apple Makes New Advance, Introduces iCloud

The iCloud cometh.

Every single time Apple comes out with a new product, everyone begins to wonder if there is anything else that the company can come up with. But somehow, Apple seems to always come through.

There is always a new version of the MacBook or the MacBook Pro that is faster, more powerful, has more memory, has better visuals, and on and on and on.

There is always a new iPod or iPod Touch that can hold more files, last longer battery wise, and has new features.

The iPhone is continually getting faster, stronger, longer lasting battery wise, and the features to the iPhone are practically endless with the new apps coming out every single day.

Monday, as he received a standing ovation at the Moscone Center in San Francisco, California, Steve Jobs revealed Apple’s newest innovation.

At the Worldwide Developers Conference, the iCloud was exposed for the first time.

iCloud allows all Apple product owners to store their data online rather than on their own computers. Thus, if a computer gets too old and crashes before files can be backed, it is okay because the data is online and safe to retrieve at any moment.

In addition, whether you have an iPhone, MacBook, MacBook Pro, or iPad, you are going to have the capability of having all of your information in one source in the iCloud so that no matter where you are or which device you are using, you can access all of your files and documents.

One interesting feature of the iCloud is that when you purchase music on iTunes, it will be stored in your iCloud so you can get to it from any location and any device.

There is no set release date for the iCloud, but there is already a buzz among users about the convenience the software would provide in terms of access to files.

Other new announcements were also made. In one month, the new Mac OS X Lion will be out for MacBooks and iMacs.

For iPads and iPhones there will be the new iOS 5. Under the new system, notifications will appear at the top of the screen instead of the center of it where they interfere with the user’s activities. Other new features will include a new app called Reminders, updates to the Camera, new Twitter features, and the ability to sync with iTunes via Wi-Fi.

Monday, Apple did exactly what they have been doing for years despite people questioning if they can continue to do it: innovate.
