Obama Takes A Breather

San Francisco (Obama.net)- All Americans share numerous traits. One of those personality attributes is that every citizens of the United States of America enjoys taking a break from the daily grind of going to work, paying the bills, and cleaning the house. Every American looks forward to the day they can finally go on vacation and leave the stresses of their lives behind if for only a couple days at the most. It provides us with a chance to clear out minds, refresh our bodies, and just plain old recharge for another long, grueling stretch of nonstop hard work for months and months on end to come.

And after working hard for the first eighteen months of his presidency, President Barack Obama is doing the exact same thing that all Americans love to do: take a vacation.

Friday, President Obama, along with the First Lady Michelle Obama and their children, went to Maine for a short weekend vacation. The time off comes at a time where Obama is surely exhausted from months of hard work. Recently, Obama has pressed hard for health care reform, peace in the Middle East, energy reform, worked on the oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico, and worked vigorously to restore an economy that was ruined by his predecessor. If any man needs a couple of days to unwind and clear his mind, in addition to spending some quality time with his wife and daughters, it is surely the President of the United States of America, Barack Obama

Obama took his family to Mount Desert Island for their short trip. This marks only Obama’s third weekend trip this year. Despite being blasted by Republican’s for taking a couple of days off, Obama has yet to miss a beat as he has stayed on top of all of the events or incidents going on in the United States, American politics, and throughout the entire world.

As Republican’s criticize Obama for taking some time off, one must wonder if they recall the fact that former President George W. Bush spent nearly one thousand days of his two terms vacationing in either his home state of Texas or Camp David.

As Democrat Jamal Simmons said, “Barack Obama is working as hard as any president that we’ve had in recent history and certainly harder than the most immediate previous president,” George Bush who spent 977 days on vacation during his presidency.

And as for those criticizing Obama for not vacationing in the Gulf region where he says is a great place to visit, Simmons says, “where he chooses to take his days off should really be up to him. We don’t want to get into a situation where the president is making familial vacation decisions based upon polling or political maneuvers.”

According to Paul Begala, a former member of the Clinton Administration, “Of all of he concerns that Americans may have, they do not need to worry whether President Obama is a hard working man. They may agree or disagree with his policies, but there is just no doubt that the guy is busting his rear end.”

With the current issues on Obama’s plate being more rigorous than ever, and with his work ethic being higher than ever, it is difficult to argue against the fact that the man deserves a few days to relax with his family away from the hustle and bustle of Washington DC.

The citizens of the United States of America can be certain that come Monday when President Barack Obama is back in his office that he will be back with a refreshed body and mind that will enable him to take care of all of the issues set before him and take on any new ones that may come his way with the same passion and intellect that he has in the first year and a half of his first term as President of the United States of America.
