Today, Sid the Kid returned to the ice. However, he was not back to play in a game or even to practice. Sidney Crosby simply went back on the ice to just skate around.
Crosby has been suffering from concussion like symptoms for over a year now.
Crosby skipped out on attending the All Star festivities and opted to go to Los Angeles to see a neurological and spine specialist. The same doctor, Dr. Robert Bray, reported that Crosby not only had a concussion, but also an undiagnosed neck injury in January of 2011, when his first problems began.
Crosby returned to the ice for a short time this year. He was immediately back on his game and averaged over one point per game during his short season before another collision caused his symptoms to return.
Many within the Pittsburgh Penguins are hoping that Crosby will come back before the end of the season. Right now the Penguins are one of the top teams in the league, but the return of arguably the best player in the world since Wayne Gretzky would not be something any team would ever pass on.
