Santorum Likely to Win in Louisiana, But it is Too Late to Beat Romney for Nomination

Many are predicting that tonight in Louisiana Rick Santorum will come out on top and collect a good deal of delegates, narrowing the distance between him and the man currently leading the Republican primary, Mitt Romney.

But the real question in the minds of many is whether or not it even matters anymore. With the great lead that Romney currently holds and the number of projected victories ahead of him, the odds are definitely in the favor of Romney and not in the favor of Santorum. Romney might be struggling to win the Southern vote, but Santorum is struggling to win anywhere else in the country.

While no Republican candidate has yet to capture the spirit of the entire spectrum of the Republican Party, Romney is clearly the man who has the widest appeal for his party.

Furthermore, many are coming to terms with the fact that Romney is the one Republican candidate who will be able to put up a real fight against President Barack Obama and the Democratic Party this coming November.

With less and less primaries to be decided, it will soon be clear who is going to represent the Republicans in the Presidential Election of 2012 against Obama.
