Lil Wayne Sued for $15 Million Over Bedrock and Royalties from Tha Carter III

A lawsuit has been filed by Done Deal Enterprises against Lil Wayne, Young Money Entertainment, Cash Money Records, and Universal Music Group.

Done Deal Enterprises is claiming that Lil Wayne stole the 2009 single, “Bedrock.”

The song, which features Lloyd, Nicki Minaj, Drake, Tyga, Gudda Gudda, and Jae Millz along with Wayne, is apparently worth $15 million as that is how much Done Deal Enterprises is suing for.

The official lawsuit claims copyright infringement against Wayne and his associates. As of press time, Lil Wayne, born Dwayne Michael Carter, Jr., is scheduled to stand in count on the 12th of October.

The song was originally known as “Girl You Know” and had Omarion on the hook before he left Young Money Entertainment. As “Bedrock,” it peaked at number two on the Hot 100.

Lil Wayne is also being sued by Play-N-Skillz for royalties from a 2008 track with T-Pain. David Kirkwood, a producer, is also suing Wayne for royalties from Tha Carter III.

While the royalty claims may have legitimacy, the suit over “Bedrock” does raise some questions. For instance, why would Done Deal Enterprises be suing over a song in 2011 when the song was announced in 2009 and released in early 2010?
