The highly anticipated game amongst gamers from all around the world was finally released this week. It was expected that sales were going to be some of the highest ever for a game. And those expectations were correct.
Tuesday, with the release in both the United States and the United Kingdom, an amazing total of six and a half million copies of the game were sold. In just one day, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 brought in a staggering four hundred million dollars. That broke the previous record of 360 million dollars held by the games’ predecessor, Call of Duty: Black Ops.
All copies of the game have always been $60.
Now all eyes are on how many units will the new game sell in the first five days that it is out for purchase. Black Ops currently holds that record.
It is still too soon to really judge the game beyond first glance opinions by hardcore gamers. In the coming weeks full reviews of the game will be coming out and anyone who is interested in the game or on the fence about getting it will have a better idea of how successful the game is.
