Obama Pushes for LeBron

San Francisco (Obama.net)- The President of the United States of America Barack Obama does not keep his deep-seeded fan hood of sports a secret. Obama is a longtime sports fan, especially Chicago sports.

Naturally, President Obama is a fan of the Chicago Bulls of the National Basketball Association. Obama was able to watch the great Michael Jordan bring his squadron a grand total of six NBA Championships in eight years. Now, Obama sees the opportunity for another NBA great to come to Chicago and bring the city another title.

As LeBron James is just hours away from announcing his decision on free agency Thursday, many suspect that he will either go to the Miami Heat or the New York Knicks, or most likely stay with his current and hometown team, the Cleveland Cavaliers. But President Obama has different ideas.

President Obama’s spokesperson, Robert Gibbs, said that “the president believes he (LeBron James) would look quite good in a Bulls uniform.” Gibbs later added, “hope it doesn’t lead to an NBA tampering charge,” a quip on the strictness of NBA Commissioner David Stern’s tendency to fine members of the league for saying things that may influence free agents.

As a free agent, the two-time NBA Most Valuable Player can officially sign with any team of his choice Thursday, so long as the team he chooses has the proper salary cap space.

Obama is one of the biggest Chicago sports fans in America and his high hopes for LeBron James to come to play for the Chicago Bulls should come as no surprise. While some argue that the President should not express favoritism when it comes to his favorite teams, Obama makes it clear that sports are different and aligning himself with teams such as the Chicago Bulls and the Chicago White Sox has nothing to do with his ability to run the nation.

As the hours slowly tick away towards the official announcement of LeBron James Thursday night, one can be sure that President Obama goes through his busy day, he will be sure to keep an eye on the news tonight to see just where the two-time NBA MVP lands.
