San Francisco (Obama.net)- In Washington, D.C. today, hundreds of people waited outside the Harman Center for the Arts for four hours hoping to be one of the 550 people who would get a seat for the nights taping. The taping was for Wednesday’s episode of Comedy Central’s “The Daily Show” starring Jon Stewart.

This episode was a special one. One reason this taping was special is that it occurred just a few days before the Midterm Elections. Another reason is that it comes just a couple of days before Saturday’s “Rally to Restore Sanity,” which is going to be headlined by Stewart and his fellow Comedy Central political show host, Stephen Colbert. But the main reason this episode stands above all others had to do with its guest.

Stewart welcomed the President of the United States, Barack Obama to “The Daily Show” on Wednesday night. The entire episode consisted of the two men talking about the election and Obama’s term thus far.

When Stewart questioned the slow pace of both the Health Care Reform and the Economic Reform, Obama told the host that he didn’t promise change overnight. Obama said, “When we promised change you can believe in, it wasn’t in 18 months. It was change we were going to have to work on.”

CNN/Getty

Obama further explained the facets of the Health Care Reform. The President pointed out how 14 millions children who didn’t have health care before now do. He pointed out how in these hard economic times, parents can now help their children by keeping them on their health care until they’re 26. And he pointed out that the way the reform works, the deficit will actually be reduced by $1 trillion.

Obama was also questioned on the possibility that the Democrats may lose many seats in Congress on Tuesday. The President responded by pointing out that on every single measure the Democrats have presented, they have made positive progressions to the economy and the United States.

When asked about the unemployment rate and his stimulus packages, Obama cited some very important figures. Obama pointed out that before he entered office, 4 million jobs were lost and another 2 million were lost before he was even able to pass any of his economic legislature. Since then, the economy and job growth in the United States has been progressing.

Obama made it clear that when it comes to the change he is talking about, “it’s not going to happen overnight,” but it will happen. And as the statistics associated with his reforms and policies, the change that was promised is coming.

San Francisco (Obama.net)- As the Tea Party has emerged swiftly out of the Republican Neoconservative party, it has come time for President Barack Obama to address the radical new movement. And the President of the United States of America did so Thursday night Nevada.

President Barack Obama attended Harry Reid’s fundraiser Thursday night. During the financing event for the Democratic Senate Majority Leader of Nevada, President Obama promoted Reid and knocked the Tea Party and its candidate, Sharron Angle.

About Angle, Obama said, “she favors an approach that’s even more extreme than the Republicans we got in Washington,” and “that is saying something. I mean she wants to phase out and privative Social Security and Medicare.” President Obama went on to comment that the Tea Party’s Sharron Angle “wants to eliminate our investment in clean energy. Wants to eliminate the federal investment in our children’s educations.”

Angle’s views lack a certain something that is very important in politics. Some would call it logic, others may call it reason, but all can agree that the Tea Party’s candidate lacks intelligence on these issues. After all of the progressions made by President Barack Obama in the last year and a half, Sharron Angle is looking to undo all of the good that has come America’s way in that time.

Angle claims that her ideas are the right ones, saying that under Obama’s system, America is “going in the wrong direction under the leadership of Obama and Reid.” Angle has ignored the jobs created by Obama’s stimulus package, despite all of the evidence to the contrary. Angle is focusing highly on helping the corporations of America prosper even more in order to hope that they will create all of the jobs saying, “we stimulate the economy by giving business the confidence to take risks.”

Apparently Angle didn’t watch the news for the last couple years and wasn’t told about the hundreds of companies that failed and needed the billion dollar bailouts.

Obama criticized Angle for her reactions to the recent Oil Spill in the Mexican Gulf Coast and how the costs that are being paid for by the company responsible for the spill BP, which Angle called a “slush fund.”

After Angle took it back, calling her use of the phrase “slush fund” inappropriate and wrong, Obama replied, “I’m sure she meant ‘slush fund’ in the nicest possible way.”

Obama was clear that he isn’t for Sharron Angle and the rest of the Tea Party and their extreme ideals. Obama commented, “Most of the people I meet her in this state, they don’t think like that. They don’t subscribe to that kind of thinking.” After making that clear, Obama asked the ever important question to the people of Nevada, “why would you want somebody who has that philosophy representing the people of Nevada?”

As the Tea Party has come about quickly in the past year, some have jumped onto their bandwagon and hooked onto their ideals. However, President Barack Obama is not drinking the Kool-Aid. As Obama inspected the philosophies of the Tea Party and examined their goals and how they approach issues, the President of the United States of America realizes that the Tea Party is no good for the United States. And with his support for Harry Reid, Obama wants to make sure that the people of Nevada don’t make the mistake and risk having an extremist leader that might lead them in the same direction as Jan Brewer has led Arizona.

With his hard pressing actions, Obama and Reid will more than likely maintain their hold in Nevada and keep the Western state prosperous.

It seems like the tumultuous argument and debate over the Economic Stimulus Package has been going on forever, but it hasn’t even been a whole month. Nonetheless, the officiality of it is now a 10 after President Obama signed the final version of the bill on Tuesday after the House and Senate reached a compromise on the 13th of this month.

Let’s hit rewind and look at the development of this plan.

The initial plan presented by the House of Representatives, which passed for $819 billion was, as we all know, not bipartisanly supported. How recockulous of the Republicans to not support the stimulating of this nation’s economy! But the Democrats said to the Republicans, au contraire, mon frère (that’s foreign for “on the contrary my brother”) we need this plan!

Even with a staggering zero votes coming from Republicans in the House, the bill passed with the 244 Democratic votes. Yeah, the lackage of support from the red elephants most totally reeked of sucktitude, but it passed and to the Senate’s version we went.

61-37, no, that’s the score from the Texas State, Nicholls State NCAA Basketball game from March 1st, 2004. Well, yeah it is, but that’s what we’re talking about here. 61-37 is the outcome of the voting on the Senate’s version of the stimulus plan. That’s right, Obama’s creation was officially passed in both the House and the Senate. However, this time, a flabbergasting 3 Republicans voted for the bill. What’s that? It’s called bipartisan support! Exactly what our President, Mr. Barrack Obama wanted! I bet his dinner tasted a little bit better that night.

But oh snap, we have a problem now. The House passed a version for $819 billion that was different from the $838 billion version that the Senate passed. Oh wow, what on Earth will we do?!?! It’s called a Compro-wait for it, wait for it-MISE! COMPROMISE!

And that’s just what the House and Senate did. They got together and worked tirelessly together, as a team, to get the final version ready and finalized for President Obama to sign. The Democrats and Republicans worked together to complete a final version, which included quite a few bargains made between the two versions of the bill. Oh, that’s compromiselicious!

So in the end, what do we have? We have a $787 billion package. A few notes- $92 billion for education, 440.75 billion for energy, $24.1 billion for healthcare, $17.55 billion for scientific research, and much more to go to jobs, hunger assistance, housing, infrastructure projects, and more.

And that’s the story of the Economic Stimulus Package presented by President Obama that will hopefully fix the current economic crisis this nation is going through. And let me say, Pittsburgh Steelers, Philadelphia Phillies, Boston Celtics, Michael Phelps, this Stimulus Package is a winner!
